Right wing evangelist confesses to being a hypocrite

In his apology letter, Haggard made no mention of drug use, but said "I am guilty of sexual immorality." He also noted that "the things I did opened the door for additional allegations.

I'm not holding my breath or anything but, doesn't he owe an apology to the gay community for using his "religion" to make their lives miserable?

Conservative Columnist: "This is not an election anymore, it's an intervention."

Conservative Andrew Sullivan said the president was "so in denial," comparing the Rumsfeld endorsement to applauding the job FEMA's Michael Brown did on Katrina: "It's unhinged. It suggests this man has lost his mind. No one objectively could look at the way this war has been conducted, whether you were for it, as I was, or against it, and say that it has been done well. It's a disaster.

"For him to say it's a fantastic job suggests the president has lost it, I'm sorry, there's no other way to say it.....These people must be held accountable." He added that today, Richard Perle, a leading neocon and Iraq war backer, had today called the administration "dysfunctional."

Conservative columnist Andrew Sullivan reacting to Bush's statement Nov 1, 2006:
"Donald Rumsfeld and Vice President Cheney "are doing fantastic jobs and I strongly support them."

Airport screeners miss 20 of 22 "devices"

Five years after 9/11, when the Gov't tightened security at US airports, and 2 months after retightened security procedures due to the "war on moisture" banning liquids on airplanes......

Screeners at Newark Liberty International Airport failed 20 of 22 security tests conducted by undercover U.S. agents last week, missing an array of concealed bombs and guns at checkpoints throughout the hub's three terminals, federal security officials familiar with the results said.

"We can do better, and training is the path to improved performance," said Mark Hatfield Jr., Newark Airport's federal security director.

Gee Mark do you really think so?

Neocons : Bush admin one of the most incompetent teams in the postwar era.

Two of the top architects of the Iraq War are now coming out against it.

Richard Perle, who chaired a committee of Pentagon policy advisers early in the Bush administration, said had he seen at the start of the war in 2003 where it would go, he probably would not have advocated an invasion to depose Saddam Hussein. Perle was an assistant secretary of defense under President Reagan.

Kenneth "Cakewalk" Adelman was mistaken in his high opinion of Bush's national security .

"They turned out to be among the most incompetent teams in the postwar era," he said. "Not only did each of them, individually, have enormous flaws, but together they were deadly, dysfunctional."

Army Times Calls for Rumsfeld's Resignation

An editorial to be published Monday in independent publications that serve the four main branches of the U.S. military will call for President Bush to replace Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

"Basically, the editorial says, it's clear now, from some of the public statements that military leaders are making, that he's lost the support and respect of the military leadership," said Robert Hodierne, senior managing editor for the publications' parent company Army Times Publications.

Duh! Ya think?

How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power

This is sounding more and more believable ....
According to The Guardian UK:

"George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.

The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy."

The evidence has also prompted one former US Nazi war crimes prosecutor to argue that the late senator's action should have been grounds for prosecution for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
