did bush bug clinton, clark, and kerry?

NBC's Andrea Mitchell was interviewing James Risen the NY times reporter who broke the story about Bush's domestic spying. She pointedly asked him "You don't have any information, for instance, that a very prominent journalist, Christiane Amanpour, might have been eavesdropped upon?"

Why would her phone be tapped? Amanpour as a reporter is expected to have spoken with both gov't officials and those that might have terrorist ties.
If she was tapped, anyone else that used her phone/computer at home or at work would also be using a tapped phone/computer.

Her husband has probably used the phone at home.
Amanpour is married to Jamie Rubin. Jamie Rubin was:
A Clinton administration senior official and a spokesman for the State Department.
Chief foreign policy adviser to General Wesley Clark's presidential campaign.
Senior national security adviser to John Kerry's presidential campaign.

Even odder still, NBC pulled the question from the transcript of the interview.
When asked why, they replied they're still investigating the issue.
